Female Wall Mason Bee
2x actual size
Honestly, this is the sweetest little powder compact you could ever see and it sits beautifully with the little Mason Bee inside it. And it is paired with Paul Hodges 'Bee Box' which is also listed on this website. This is what he says about his piece:
"My piece celebrates Osmia parietina, the Wall Mason Bee. It focuses on its habitat, located in the north and west of the British Isles. Bee Box depicts the environment in which it nests among dry stone walls and broken limestone pavement, and some plants it collects nectar and pollen from, such as Bird’s-foot trefoil, Bugle and Clover, found in traditionally managed pasture. The ‘nestbox’ was inspired by a visit to Malham Cove in the Yorkshire Dales, its extensive limestone “pavement” above the cliffs and its unique flora and fauna. (The champagne cork stopper celebrated a great day’s walking!)"
Vintage mini powder compact, embroidery thread, wool, vintage Kamibari gold thread, beads.
