Lone Voice in the Wilderness

Lone Voice in the Wilderness. Do you ever feel that is you? I’ve felt that way sometimes. I know that I’m so lucky to have found fellow voices through my art, I’m connecting with people who feel like I do about bees, sustainability, our planet. It’s made me feel less alone. On Wednesday, three anti-fracking activists were jailed for halting a convoy of lorries in a four-day protest outside a shale drilling site; they are thought to be the first environmental demonstrators to receive custodial sentences in the UK since 1932. They were protesting for our planet, for us, for me. So Simon Roscoe Blevins, Richard Roberts and Rich Loizou, I thank you. “This won’t break us, we will come out stronger....Some may view us as victims, but we refuse to be victimised by this. The real victims will be future generations suffering preventable disasters caused by climate change. Our friends and fellow campaigners outside will continue to fight for a ban on fracking and for a just transition to a renewable and democratically owned energy system.” Blevins. glass, pine frame, dandelion, vintage gold thread, gold leaf 40cm x 40cm
